Legal Function Structuring
As a part of its Legal Compliance and Corporate Governance initiatives, Chess undertakes Advisory and Consultancy work on Legal function structuring of companies. The general trend in companies is that there is no clear delineation and demarcation of legal functions. Consequently the legal functionaries are overburdened with non legal functions such as Human relations management, client servicing, liaison with governmental authorities on non-legal matters, endless loops of document verification in the absence of versioning and stamping of documents, thus diluting their role and enhancing the legal risk to their company. Chess undertakes a comprehensive organizational restructuring of the legal function which identifies the roles and responsibilities of the legal functionaries working in the various hierarchal levels of a company and structures their roles accordingly.
